Introduction to our class blog!

What a unique time to be analyzing critical issues in the contemporary art world.  It is not an exaggeration to say that every day brings news of foundational changes to institutions and invitations to the dialogue grappling with profound concerns about race, identity, economics and the intersection with the art and wider creative community.

Although it is exhausting to attempt to 'digest this information' and scaffold it onto the existing structure,  and clearly impossible to keep up with the deluge, our class time this semester offers us the luxury of time (afforded by being in an academic institution) to begin an informed dialogue/debate/discussion.

So, as I invite you to share your blogs -- you really don't have a choice since they are required! -- I welcome a lively exchange of ideas.
